International Primary School Programme
Our primary students experience an interactive environment that promotes innovation, challenge and learning through curiosity, supported by teachers who are firmly focused on helping young children develop into responsible, reflective and engaged learners.
We build core skills in academic subjects and develop the ways our students communicate and engage with the world around them. Our primary curriculum creates opportunities for students to guide their own learning, whilst nurturing confidence, through developing their understanding of the Habits of Mind.
Our school uses the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) Primary Curriculum supplemented by the National Curriculum of England (NCE) that means our students benefit from:
The curriculum is modified to incorporate all the requirements of the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Classes are kept small, so that each student gets enough personalised attention.
Our Primary School is divided into two phases (Key Stage) and 6 Year groups:
KEY STAGE 1
Year 1 & Year 2 (age 5 to 7)
At this stage, young learners are embarking on an exciting educational journey. While helping them foster a love of learning, our teachers are also careful to ensure that children are supported and challenged in their efforts so that they can achieve their potential and become successful in their efforts. The road to digital leadership begins here alongside the introduction of good Habits of Mind.
KEY STAGE 2
Year 3 to Year 6 (age 7 to 11)
As children grow in knowledge and confidence, Key Stage 2 welcomes the opportunity for learners to take on more challenges and to take greater responsibility for their own learning. Children learn a broad and balanced curriculum that builds a firm foundation in the fundamentals of English, Mathematics and Science. The core subjects are embedded and complimented by the full range of the Cambridge Curriculum subjects.
The Primary School is the beginning of the educational journey for students in our school. Our Primary School offers an environment for children to acquire and develop skills, knowledge and understanding that they will need for a successful transition to Secondary School. We value not only academic development but also the social, emotional, creative and physical development of each child during these crucial years.
Our students benefit from the full range of Cambridge Curriculum subjects, enhanced by our additional, local subjects and the unique Digital Leadership Programme.
